VEREENIGING. – Women of the World will unite in prayer on Friday March 2.

This is when women across the globe gather in prayer and worship. An inter-denominational service to observe the 82nd Women’s World Day of Prayer will take place at the Central Methodist Church, 24 Victoria Avenue, at 10:00.
The programme this year was compiled by the women of Malaysia. The theme “Let Justice Prevail” highlights issues facing all women today.

Malaysia is a country of contrasts from modern cities to idyllic resorts and tropical rainforests and boasts a harmonious atmosphere amongst its diverse peoples.

There have been government programmes to reduce poverty among women, and women have excelled in various professions but, as in so many other countries, they still face discrimination and violence on different levels of society. Only 7% of the population are Christian but religious freedom is tolerated. All interested parties are invited to attend the service, which is not restricted to women only.
