LAND ROVER WEEKEND AND RECORD ATTEMPT

Land Rover is going beyond in Midvaal. A Land Rover weekend coupled with a Guinness World record attempt will be taking place at the Malonjeni Game Farm on March 3 and 4. This first-of-a-kind in South Africa Land Rover event will include an expo of new and old Land Rovers, camping and the world record attempt.

The highlight of the weekend will be the Guinness World Record attempt for the most Land Rovers in a convoy yet. The current world record for the most Land Rovers on parade is 348 vehicles. This was broken in April of 2011 in the UK by Convoy for Heroes.
On Sunday March 4, an attempt will be made to break this record and claim a new Guinness World Record for Most Land Rovers on parade. The convoy will depart from Land Rover Vereeniging and will do a loop of approximately 14 kilometres into Midvaal.
The cost per vehicle participating in the World Record is R200 per vehicle. This includes an event T-shirt and a free entry to the expo.
At the expo, Land Rovers from the Military, Police and Fire Service will be on display and also awesome Land Rovers from Series 1 through to the brand new Range Rover Evoque including Camel Trophy and G4 Land Rovers.
If you have a Land Rover that you would like to display then please fill in the Concours Application Form on the website www.landyfestival.co.za. Each category of Land Rover will be judged and the best in each class will be awarded a Landy Expo 2012 Concours trophy.
The Landy Expo Arena will also be packed with activities such as a 4 x 4 challenge and Trials Display. There will even be a safe kiddies area that frees mom and dad to spend some time at the expo. Those looking for a spare or something rare, will probably find it at the boot sale. People with spares to sell can fill in the Boot Sale Application Form.
For the hungry a wide variety of caterers to suit all tastes will be there. This event is supported and endorsed by the Midvaal Municipality.
