ADT celebrates earth week

ZAMDELA. – ADT Security recently celebrated its fourth annual Earth Week. The theme for 2012 was ‘The future’s in our hands’.

This year’s event was a huge success with the different regions and branches taking part in community projects in an attempt to share their commitment to saving the planet.
Several national initiatives were implemented at all offices which included renewed recycling drives and pledges to cut back on printing and water wastage.

As its green initiative for Earth Day, ADT Vaal Triangle came together at the recently-completed Zamdela Police Station to plant a tree to replace the previous one, which had died. Station Commander Colonel KF Veloi attended the tree-planting ceremony and commented on how the gesture would do a great deal to further good relations between ADT and the SAPS.

“I didn’t realise planting a tree was such hard work but it was very satisfying being able to give back to the environment and our local SAPS, who do so much for the community,” says André de Wet, ADT branch manager of the Vaal Triangle.

“We really enjoyed our day together and are pleased to have made a difference in some small way.”
