Talle ooreenkomste laat vriendskap blom

Jacobs as adjunk-hoof afgetree.

Ek sou se verdraagsaamheid is baie belangrik. Niemand is sonder foute nie. Jacobs.

Changing Face ready to rock at Sun City

VEREENIGING – An exciting 2010 awaits local rock band “Changing Face”. The year started off on a high when they were invited to perform throughout the whole of January at Sun City.

This gig included a gruelling 24 shows. “It was a magical experience allthough┬áit took a lot out of the band,” says lead singer Lloyd.

After their stay at Sun City, the band took a deserving break and Lloyd jumped at the chance to visit his family in America.

“I spent three weeks with my dad, brother and other family members and during my stay also ran into a band called Changing Phases,” says Lloyd. He met the members of this 11-piece band after their show and was quite surprised to learn that they were aware of the ┬áSouth African band called Changing Face. Luckily there will be no confusion as the two bands perform different kinds of music.

But Lloyd is back in the Vaal again and will be performing in a few local shows before the band bids farewell to its home town again and travels back to Sun City. This time they will be staying and performing at Sun City for 3 months as part of the 2010 Soccer World Cup build-up. They leave on May 1, but local fans will have the opportunity to see them perform on April 24 at the Barnyard Theatre in Three Rivers Vereeniging. They will share the stage with Garth Taylor.

On April 30 they will be on stage at the Transvalia Open Air Show at 20:00. Don’t miss out the chance to see the local lads rock up a storm!

Soccer 2010 Winter Warm Campaign launched!

Everyone wants to be part of the Soccer World Cup and it is no different for the 1263 children from 22 children’s organisations in the Vaal Triangle. To make these rejected children feel part of this world event, The Vaal Region Community Chest, IFM 102.2 FM in conjunction with Ster and Vaalweekblad, would like to provide each child over 12 with a soccer jacket and children aged 0 to 11 with a track suit.

The organisers would like to invite any company, school, church or individual to help by taking hands in this huge effort. We want to make a warm difference to the orphaned, disabled, sick and needy children housed in care centres throughout the Vaal Region. The Community Chest would like to thank our loyal community partners who have already committed themselves to being part of this worthy project.

How to donate and become involved:

  • Sponsor one or more children by contributing R100 per child to the Community Chest’s bank account.
  • As a company or church you may sponsor┬áan organisation by providing the funds to buy the soccer jackets / tracksuits for each child.
  • Organise a fundraiser in your company where employees donate any amount and sponsor one or more children. Why not hold a fancy dress or casual day among your staff and build team spirit while helping a needy child?
  • Companies / schools can organise a sports event like Spinning to not only build unity in your organisation, but also raise funds for this project and sponsor a few children with money raised.
  • Schools can commit to a winter day in which children can come to school in soccer outfits, paying a small amount, realising that they are contributing to children in need. The school can then sponsor a┬áfew children with money raised. Please note that for a donation of R3,000 or more towards this project, one qualifies to receive a Section 18A tax certificate. Monies thus donated must┬ábe deposited into the special Section 18A account of the Community Chest and not the account quoted above.┬á

The deadline for donations is 14 May.
